Solar Scams

Across the United States, citizens are being scammed by local solar energy companies. These privatized companies are said to be dishonest and unethical when it comes to the selling of the panels, targeting low-income and vulnerable populations. On average, the total financing for residential solar panels are around $70,000. Americans are allegedly told that the panels are free from government programs or that the amount is significantly lower than the actual finance price. Many are fearful of losing their homes by these financial burdens and liens placed on their homes. This visual story is about the Pena's in Freer, Texas.
